Web 2.0 in brief
There’s an abundance of comment and marketing hype regarding “Web 2.0″, but 2 gents which seem to have a fair idea of what’s going on are Tim O’Reilly and Dion Hinchcliffe. They seem to have as good a grasp of the concept as anyone, and they have assisted in my own understanding and collaborated definition;
“Web 2.0 is about people. It is the network as platform, spanning numerous connected devices, applications and systems. It is characterised by increased communication, participation and information sharing between users, content providers and enterprises. It is perceived as a second generation of web development encouraging users to collaboratively add value to the applications that they are using.”
